Delete My Account

Applicable for: Android;Mac;Windows;iOS;Windows 10 in S Mode

What is the impact of deleting my account with Norton?

Your account is permanently and irrevocably removed from our systems. You will no longer be able to sign into your account. When you delete your account, we may no longer be able to provide you with services.

Is deleting my account the same as canceling my subscription contract?

No. Prior to deleting your account we ask you to cancel and disable all active subscriptions. This is because we can’t provide some products and services without processing your personal information.

Who can request personal data deletion?

Many data protection laws and regulations provide the right of deletion, or the right of erasure. Generally, Norton and LifeLock will delete your account and related personal data upon request, regardless of where you reside, as long as there is no conflicting obligation that prevents us from acting on the request.

Why was my request to have my data deleted rejected?

Deletion requests may be refused for a variety of reasons or a combination of reasons. The most common reasons include:

  • You still have an active subscription

  • You purchased your subscription from a third-party company, and it is still active

  • You have an active support case in progress

  • You have an identity restoration case in progress

  • Your personal data is under a legal hold which obligates Norton to retain it

Why is my account under legal hold?

The reasons for data being under a legal hold can vary. The most common situation is that Norton has a legal obligation to a regulatory agency to retain data. Regulatory agencies typically impose these requirements in order to protect consumers.

I didn’t mean to delete my account, can you put it back?

The deletion process is permanent and irreversible. You can create a new account, but it will not have the data from the account that was deleted.
