Unable to print or scan when connected to Norton VPN

To fix this issue, follow the steps below:

STEP 1

Connect to a different VPN region

To manually change the geographic region on your Norton VPN, refer to Manually change the geographic location in Norton VPN.

STEP 2

Change the trust level of your network

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

    If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. In the Norton product main window, click Settings.

  3. In the Settings window, click Firewall.

  4. On the General Settings tab, in the Network Trust row, click Configure.

  5. In the Network Trust window, select your network under Trust Level and click Full Trust.

    Select the network named NortonSecurevpn and then click Full Trust.

  6. Click Apply, and then click OK.

STEP 3

Add a device to Device Trust

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

    If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. In the Norton product main window, click Settings.

  3. In the Settings window, click Firewall.

  4. On the General Settings tab, in the Device Trust row, click Configure.

  5. In the Device Trust window, click Add.

  6. In the Add Device window, in the Name box, type the name of the device that you want to add to your network.

    The maximum character length of the device name should not exceed 15 characters.

  7. In the IP or Physical Address box, type the IP address or physical address of the device that you want to add to the Device Trust.

    You can use the following formats in the IP or Physical Address box:

    IPv4 address

    172.16.0.0

    IPv6 address

    fe80::12ac:fe44:192a:14cc

    Physical address

    11-22-c3-5a-fe-a4

    The address that you provide is not verified until the device is physically found on the network.

  8. From the Trust Level drop-down menu, select Full Trust.

  9. If you want the device to be excluded from Intrusion Prevention scans, check Exclude from IPS Scanning.

  10. Click Add Device.

STEP 4

Reconfigure your printer

Re-configure your Printer as per your printer manufacturer guide.
