As of October 15th 2020, we have ended the Norton VPN support for macOS X 10.11 El Capitan. No product updates or new versions of Norton VPN will be released for macOS X 10.11 El Capitan or earlier.

Why the Norton VPN support for macOS X 10.11 El Capitan is being discontinued?

As of August 2018, Apple has stopped releasing any product updates and security fixes for macOS 10.11 El Capitan.

Consequently, to continue providing the necessary system updates that ensure high-quality products and security for our users in future releases, we are ending the Norton VPN support for macOS X 10.11 El Capitan.

How do I know if I have macOS X 10.11 El Capitan?

To find out if you have macOS X 10.11 El Capitan on your Mac, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Apple icon on the Menu bar and then click About This Mac.

  2. On the overview tab, you can find the version of macOS that you have on your device.

Can I still use Norton VPN on macOS X 10.11 El Capitan?

You may continue to use Norton VPN on your Mac with macOS X 10.11 El Capitan. However, you will not receive any product updates or security fixes. Also, you cannot upgrade or install any newer versions of Norton Secure VPN in the future.
