Message: "VPN stopped working" appears on Norton VPN

You may encounter this error message when you try to connect to your VPN using the Norton VPN app. To fix this issue, follow the steps below:

This problem may occur on Norton VPN Standard, Norton VPN Ultra and Norton VPN Plus products. 

Restart your computer

  1. Exit all the open programs.

  2. Restart your computer.

    If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall Norton VPN.

Uninstall Norton VPN

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

  2. Type in the following text, and then press Enter.

    appwiz.cpl 
  3. In the list of currently installed programs, select Norton VPN, and click Remove or Uninstall.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall Norton VPN.

Reinstall Norton VPN

  1. Sign in to your account.

  2. In the My Norton portal, under Secure VPN, click Download.

  3. Click Agree & Download, and then save the installer.

  4. Double-click the installer file that you downloaded.

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
