Message: "We've encountered an error. Reference ID: 4" appears on Norton AntiTrack app

This problem can occur when the Norton AntiTrack does not open on your computer. Follow the steps below on your Windows or Mac device to fix this issue.

Step 1: Exit and restart Norton AntiTrack

  1. On your Norton AntiTrack App, click the Close icon on the top-right corner of the screen.

  2. Restart your computer.

  3. Restart Norton AntiTrack.

If the issue persists, go to Step 2.

Step 2: Enable ATTray from Task Manager

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

  2. In the Run dialog box, type in the following text, and then press Enter:

    taskmgr

  3. In the Task Manager window, go to the Startup tab.

  4. In the Startup tab, right-click ATTray and click Enable.

If the issue is still now resolved, uninstall and reinstall Norton AntiTrack from your device.

Uninstall and reinstall Norton AntiTrack

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

  2. In the Run dialog box, type in the following text, and then press Enter:

    appwiz.cpl

  3. In the list of currently installed programs, click Norton AntiTrack, and then click Uninstall or Change.

  4. Click Yes to confirm.

  5. When the uninstall finishes, exit all programs and restart the computer.

  6. Reinstall Norton AntiTrack.
