What does the new company name mean?

Gen is derived from the word ‘Generation’ inspired by the linking of generations. Not defined by age, but any person connected to the digital world. Within the ‘G,’ the arrow symbolizes regeneration and our continuous cycle in online development. protecting the first digital generations. Gen brings leading technology solutions in cybersecurity, privacy and identity protection to more than 500 million users so they can live their digital lives safely, privately and confidently – today and for generations to come.

There are no changes to our trusted consumer product brands or our products and services. Gen is our company name and legal entity that operates as a multi-brand company with many consumer brands - Norton, Avast, LifeLock, Avira, AVG, ReputationDefender and CCleaner. More than 500 million people who use our brands, products and services today will continue to purchase and be protected by our consumer products and services globally Gen’s family of trusted consumer brands. The only change is that our company name is changing to Gen.
What changed recently with the Norton brand?

On November 10, we introduced our new brand promise, logo and look and feel for the Norton brand. This new visual identity represents how we think consumers should be able to feel in a digital world. The promise for people everywhere is, "Digital Living on the Bright Side" to showcase all the goodness the digital world has to offer when you feel protected.

What is different in the new Norton logo?

Our yellow is now brighter and bolder signaling our optimistic view of the digital world. Our circle is open demonstrating that Cyber Safety is for everyone. Our Checkmark is pixel free and simplified to represent the ease of our solutions. And our "N" is still Norton, only a little friendlier (lowercase in logo only).
Over time, you may start to see the new simplified Norton Checkmark and/or the Norton Wordmark used as standalone elements, but they will still support and complement each other in assets to ensure clarity and continue to build equity around the Norton brand.
When will I see these changes?

Starting now, you will experience the new Norton brand on Norton.com, social media, our product portal (My Norton), and in the modernized Norton logo, which preserves familiar elements while offering a more contemporary feel. In the coming months, you'll continue to see the refreshed brand rollout across global web experiences, online and TV advertising, as well as third-party partnerships.
How do I know if this is "real" Norton now? Why am I seeing different logos?

During the transition, you will start to see our new logo and brighter yellow as we bring a bold new Norton experience to life. We want to ensure you are aware of this transition as there will be a period during which various logos may be visible to you in different places.
Recently, the LifeLock logo changed to "LifeLock by Norton". Does this Norton brand change impact that logo?

Yes, LifeLock by Norton is an endorsed brand, the Norton Checkmark and Norton Wordmark will change to be consistent. The LifeLock Wordmark retains its original design.
Is LifeLock still part of Norton with this change?

Yes, the LifeLock brand recently changed to "LifeLock by Norton" as an endorsed brand within our company's portfolio of brands. In the coming months, you'll start to see the Norton visual identity infused in LifeLock experiences.
What is LifeLock by Norton?

As you may know, LifeLock and Norton were combined under one company in 2017 now representing a comprehensive portfolio of products and services delivered through a unified experience. The two brands are now closer than ever as we transition to a shared common account and portal for an easy, one-stop experience. As a reflection of the powerful connection between the brands and the full benefits of Cyber Safety the company now provides to our members and customers, the LifeLock logo is transitioning to "LifeLock by Norton". The logo may look different, but members will receive the same protections they've always enjoyed from us. As a part of Gen's family of trusted brands, ReputationDefender brings additional privacy tools and trust-based services such as enhanced search results, personal brand, and reputation management for consumers and small businesses as a valuable part of our product portfolio.

Do you still sell BullGuard products?

With this change, we have stopped selling BullGuard products and services and we will no longer support BullGuard products after this transition. On November 4, 2019, Symantec Corporation completed the sale of its Enterprise Security business to Broadcom Inc., including the Symantec Brand. Symantec Corporation and its related Consumer Division then became NortonLifeLock Inc., a standalone company dedicated to consumer Cyber Safety. NortonLifeLock and Avast have since merged to become one company and we have a new company name, Gen.
