Respond to security issues found in your device using your account

If your device has a Norton product installed, you can remotely view the status of your device and resolve the security issues from your account. Your device should be online to resolve the issue.

You can also learn how Norton has helped protect your identity and devices by looking at the protection report.

The color of the status indicator denotes the current state of your device.

  • Red cross (x) icon: Indicates that your device does not have any Norton service installed or is unprotected. You can click the Get Norton or Download Norton option to take steps to protecting your device.

  • Orange exclamation (!) icon: Indicates that your device has protection issued and requires immediate attention.

  • Green check mark icon: Indicates that your Norton security product is installed and protecting your device from security threats and viruses.

Respond to security indicators

  1. Sign in to your account.

  2. On the Device Security page, under the device name, click Issue found.

  3. Use the option shown on the alert to resolve the issue. Some issues cannot be fixed remotely, and you need to open your protection installed on your device to resolve them.

    After the security issues are resolved on the device, the device status changes to green check mark icon.
