Error: "There is a backup problem. Make sure the destination drive or device is connected..." when running a backup to a local storage media using Norton
These steps are for the current version of Norton. If you have an older version or if you do not know your product version, go to Norton Update Center.
Create a new backup set

Start Norton.
If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click .

Click

In the Settings window, click .

Next to Manage Backup, click .

In the Backup Settings window, next to Backup Set, click .

Type in a name for your new backup set, and then click
. -
On the What tab, check the drives or My Documents under Backup Sources, from where you want to back up your files or folders.

Under File Types, select the file categories that you want to back up.
If you do not want to backup any particular category, uncheck it. To add additional files or folders, click
, and then click or to select the files or folders. -
On the Where tab, make sure that you have selected the correct destination.

Delete your old backup set

Start Norton.
If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click .

In the Settings window, click .

Next to Manage Backup, click .

From the Backup Set drop-down list, select the backup set that you want to delete.

Next to Manage Backup, click .

In the Delete Backup Set window, select .
