Message: "Unable to connect to LiveUpdate" appears while trying to run LiveUpdate on Windows

To resolve this problem, restart your computer, disable or uninstall any conflicting VPN app or non-Norton security app installed on your computer then remove and reinstall your Norton 360 app.

STEP 1

Restart your computer

  1. Exit all programs.

  2. Restart your computer.

STEP 2

Check and disable any third-party VPN app installed on your computer.

STEP 3

Uninstall the non-Norton security app from your computer

STEP 4

Remove and reinstall the Norton 360 app

  1. Download the Norton 360 Remover tool.
    Save the file to the Windows desktop. On some browsers, the file is automatically saved to its default location.

  2. To open the Downloads window in your browser, press the Ctrl + J key.

  3. Double-click the Norton_360_remover icon.

  4. To uninstall and reinstall your Norton device security product, click Reinstall.

  5. To confirm, click Uninstall.

  6. After the uninstall is complete, click Restart Now.
    After the computer restarts, you will be prompted to reinstall the product.

  7. Click Install Norton 360.
    The product name may be different depending to your subscription.

  8. Once the product is installed, click Sign in to activate your subscription.
