Norton Safe Search enhances your web search experience and provides the site safety status and Norton rating for each of the search results generated. It ranks the search results based upon the site safety status and Norton rating.
Norton Safe Search is supported in the following browsers:
Mozilla Firefox (latest version and two previous versions)
Google Chrome (latest version)
Safari (only on Mac computers)
The Norton Safe Search feature is available only for some regions including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
The default home page and new tabs of your browser is changed as you have agreed to set the Norton Safe Search as your default home page. When you install Norton, you are prompted to add the Norton extensions to your web browser. In addition, you are prompted to set Norton Safe Search as the default home page of your browser.
As part of Google Chrome's new policy, the Norton Safe Web extension will not display safety ratings for malicious or phishing links. To keep your online web searches secure in Google Chrome, we recommend you to install the Norton Safe Search extension.
