Fix problems when Split Tunnel in Norton VPN does not reroute network traffic of an application

When you use Norton VPN, you may encounter issues when a specific app or program added in Split Tunnel does not reroute the network traffic. To fix this problem, depending on the product, follow the steps:

Norton VPN app on Windows

STEP 1

Remove app from Split Tunnel

  1. Launch Norton VPN app on Windows.

  2. Click the Settings icon at the top of the app and then click Split Tunnel.

  3. In the Split Tunnel page, under the list of apps that are excluded, click the  Sample alt texticon of the app that you want to exclude.

  4. Restart device.

STEP 2

Sign out of Norton VPN

  1. Open Norton VPN.

  2. Click the Account icon present on top of the app.

  3. Click Sign Out.

  4. Restart your computer.

STEP 3

Sign in to Norton VPN

  1. Open Norton VPN.

  2. Click the Account icon present on top of the app.

  3. Click Sign in.

STEP 4

Add app in Split Tunnel

  1. Launch Norton VPN app on Windows.

  2. Click the Settings icon at the top of the app and then click Split Tunnel.

  3. In the Split Tunnel page, click Add an Application.

    Follow the on-screen instructions to add an application.

If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall Norton VPN to fix the issue.

STEP 1

Remove app from Split Tunnel

  1. Launch Norton VPN app on Windows.

  2. Click the Settings icon at the top of the app and then click Split Tunnel.

  3. In the Split Tunnel page, under the list of apps that are excluded, click the  Sample alt textRed icon of the app that you want to remove.

  4. Restart device.

STEP 2

Uninstall Norton VPN

  1. Open Norton VPN.

  2. Click the Account icon on top of the app.

  3. Click Sign Out.

  4. Uninstall Norton VPN.

STEP 3

Reinstall Norton VPN

  1. Open Norton VPN.

  2. Click the Account icon on top of the app.

  3. Click Sign in.

  4. Reinstall Norton VPN.

STEP 4

Add app in Split Tunnel

  1. Launch Norton VPN app on Windows.

  2. Click the Settings icon at the top of the app and then click Split Tunnel.

  3. In the Split Tunnel page, click Add an Application.

    Follow the on-screen instructions to add an application.

On computers having 64-bit operating system, some apps contain .exe in both 32-bit and 64-bit folders. In these cases, both the .exe files needs to be added under Split Tunnel.

Norton 360 app on Windows

STEP 1

Remove app from Split Tunnel

  1. Start Norton.

    If you see the My Norton window, next to Secure VPN, from the drop-down menu, click Settings.

  2. In the Settings window, next to Split Tunnel, click the Sample alt texticon.

  3. In the Split Tunnel window, under the list of apps that are excluded, click the Sample alt text icon of the app that you want to remove.

  4. Restart device.

STEP 2

Sign out of Norton 360

  1. Open Norton 360.

  2. Click the Account icon on the top-left corner of the screen.

  3. Click Sign Out.

  4. Restart your computer.

STEP 3

Sign in to Norton 360

  1. Open Norton 360.

  2. Click the Account icon on the top-left corner of the screen.

  3. Click Sign in.

STEP 4

Add app in Split Tunnel

  1. Start Norton.

    If you see the My Norton window, next to Secure VPN, from the drop-down menu, click Settings.

  2. In the Settings window, next to Split Tunnel, click the User-added imageicon.

  3. In the Split Tunnel window, under the list of apps that are excluded, click Add.
    Follow the on-screen instructions to add an application.

If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall Norton VPN to fix the issue.

  1. Open Norton 360.

  2. Click the Account icon on top of the app.

  3. Click Sign Out.

  4. Uninstall Norton 360.

STEP 3

Reinstall Norton 360

  1. Open Norton 360.

  2. Click the Account icon on top of the app.

  3. Click Sign in.

STEP 4

Add app in Split Tunnel

  1. Start Norton.

  2. In the Secure VPN app, tap the icon on the left-most corner of the screen and tap Settings.

  4. In the Exclude Apps screen, under the list of apps that are excluded, click the Sample alt texticon of the app that you want to remove.

  5. Restart device.

STEP 2

Sign out of Secure VPN

  1. Launch Secure VPN.

  2. Tap the icon on the left-most corner of the screen.

  3. Tap Log Out.

    In the confirmation screen, tap Yes.

STEP 3

Sign in to Norton VPN

  1. Launch Secure VPN.

  2. In the Home screen, tap I already have a subscription.

  3. In the Do you have a Norton Account? screen, tap Yes.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to sign in to your Norton account.

STEP 4

Add app in Split Tunnel

  1. Launch Secure VPN.

  2. Click the icon present on the top-left corner of the app and then click Split Tunnel.

  3. In the Settings screen, under Exclude Apps, tap Sample alt text to add the app to be included in Split Tunnel.

If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall Secure VPN to fix the issue.

  1. Launch Secure VPN.

  2. Tap the icon on the left-most corner of the screen.

  3. Tap Log Out.

STEP 3

Reinstall Norton VPN

  1. Launch Secure VPN.

  2. In the Home screen, tap I already have a subscription.

  3. In the Do you have a Norton Account? screen, tap Yes.

  5. Reinstall Norton VPN.

STEP 4

Add app in Split Tunnel

  1. Launch Secure VPN.

  2. Click the User-added imageicon present on the top-left corner of the app and then click Split Tunnel.

  3. In the Settings screen, under Exclude Apps, tap User-added image to add the app.
