Learn more about Process Policy block fix

A process policy block occurs when a program that has firewall rules configured tries to connect to the Internet and is blocked. This can happen if you turn off Automatic Program Control. When the feature is off, Norton Smart Firewall prompts you to block or allow a program the first time that it tries to access the Internet. If you block the program, Smart Firewall will block the program every time it tries to connect from then on.

Fix Norton Smart Firewall process policy block issues

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. In the Norton product main window, click Settings.

  3. In the Settings window, click Firewall.

  4. On the Program Control tab, select the program that is being blocked and click Remove.

  5. On the Advanced Program Control tab, make sure that Automatic Program Control is On.

The next time the program tries to access your network, Smart Firewall will create a rule to allow the connection if the program is safe.
