Fix Windows 10 hotspot connectivity problems with Norton product installed

This problem can occur due to incorrect network profile categorization. To resolve this issue, run LiveUpdate and change the trust level of the hotspot.

STEP 1

Run LiveUpdate

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

    If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. In the main window, double-click Security, and then click LiveUpdate.

  3. When Norton LiveUpdate is finished, click OK.

  4. Run LiveUpdate until you see the message, "Your Norton product has the latest protection updates."

  5. Exit all programs, and restart the computer.

STEP 2

Change the trust level of the hotspot

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

    If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. In the Settings window, click Firewall.

  4. In the General Settings tab, under Network Settings, next to Network Trust, click Configure.

  5. In the Network Trust window, under Network Connection, select the hotspot.

  6. Under Trust Level, from the drop-down list, select Private.

  7. Click Apply and then OK.

  8. Click Close.
