Protect your Android device against fake online store URLs using the Norton 360 mobile app

Cybercriminals sometimes create fake online stores like real ones to steal your personal data. There are many ways to access a fake online store, such as when you search for something specific and click on a link in the search results or when you click on an offer link in a suspicious email or text message.

Fake online store URLs may include malware or phishing attacks that can expose your personal data and confidential information to cybercriminals without your knowledge or permission.

If any online store URL is found suspicious, the Norton 360 app warns you before you open the website.

Ensure you have enabled the Safe Web feature to protect your device against fake online stores.

Enable Norton Safe Web

  1. From the Home screen, launch the Norton 360 app.

  2. At the bottom of the main screen, tap Account, and then tap Settings.

  3. Tap Security, and in the Safe Web row, move the slider to turn it on if it is disabled.
