Types of VPN protocols in Norton VPN

VPN protocols are sets of rules that determine how data will be transmitted from your computer. Norton VPN provides the following protocols in the product:

  • IPSec: Secure network protocol suite used to secure connections between devices
  • WireGuard: A secure and speedy open-source protocol
  • Mimic: A fast and secure protocol made by our experts to bypass VPN restrictions
  • OpenVPN : A secure and trusted open-source protocol
  • OpenVPN (UDP): Prioritizes speed compared to TCP, making it ideal for gaming, streaming, VoIP, and other real-time apps where minor data loss is acceptable.
