Fix problem with Secure VPN option missing or does not turn on from My Norton dashboard on Mac

You may encounter this issue on macOS Mojave 10.14.x or later versions if you have multiple user accounts created for your Mac. Make sure that you login into your Mac with the same user account on which you have activated your Norton product that includes Secure VPN.

To fix this problem, run LiveUpdate and install all the available Norton updates.


Run LiveUpdate

  1. Start Norton.

    If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. In the Norton main window, click LiveUpdate.

  3. When the LiveUpdate finishes, exit all programs.

  4. Restart your Mac


Turn on Secure VPN

  1. Start Norton.

  2. Next to Secure VPN, click Turn On.
