Message: "Error During Scan" when running Full Scan or Quick Scan

Applicable for: Windows

To resolve this problem, restart the computer and then run LiveUpdate and a full scan.

STEP 1

Restart the computer

  1. Exit all programs.

  2. Restart the computer.

STEP 2

Run LiveUpdate

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

    If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. In the Norton product main window, click Security, and then click LiveUpdate.

  3. When Norton LiveUpdate is finished, click OK.

  4. Run LiveUpdate until you see the message, "Your Norton product has the latest protection updates."

  5. Exit all the programs, and restart the computer.

STEP 3

Run Full Scan

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

    If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. In the Norton product main window, double-click Security, and then click Scans.

  3. In the Scans window, select Full Scan and click Go.

  4. When the scan is finished, click Finish.
