Error: (8921,252) "Unable to connect to the Norton LiveUpdate server..."

STEP 1

Restart your computer

  1. Exit all programs.

  2. Restart your computer.

STEP 2

Run LiveUpdate

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

    If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. In the Norton product main window, double-click Security, and then click LiveUpdate.

  3. When Norton LiveUpdate is finished, click OK.

  4. Run LiveUpdate until you see the message, "Your Norton product has the latest protection updates."

    If the problem persists, go to Step 3.

STEP 3

Configure LiveUpdate to automatically detect settings

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

    If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. In the Settings window, click Administrative Settings.

  4. Under Administrative Settings, next to Network Proxy Settings, click Configure.

  5. In the Network Proxy Settings window, under Automatic Configuration, check Automatically detect settings.

  6. Click Apply and then click OK.

  7. Click Close.

  8. Run LiveUpdate again.
