Turn off and turn on User Account Control

STEP 1

Turn off User Account Control

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

  2. Type in the following text, and then press Enter.

    UserAccountControlSettings.exe
  3. In the User Account Control Settings window, move the slider to Never notify, and then click OK.

  4. In the User Account Control window, click Yes.

  5. Exit all programs, and then restart the computer.

STEP 2

Turn on User Account Control

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

  2. Type in the following text, and then press Enter.

    UserAccountControlSettings.exe
  3. In the User Account Control Settings window, move the slider to choose when you want to be notified.

    If you have not changed the User Account Control settings before, then move the slider to Default - Notify me only when programs try to make changes to my computer.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Exit all programs, and then restart the computer.
