This error can occur after you upgrade your Norton product. To fix the problem, run LiveUpdate and restart the computer.
Start your Norton product.
In the main window, click, and then click .
When Norton LiveUpdate is finished, click.
Run LiveUpdate until you see the message, "Your Norton product has the latest protection updates."
Exit all the programs, and restart the computer.
If the problem persists, go to Step 2.
If you have Norton Family installed, uninstall it before you run the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool. If you have received your Norton product from your service provider, skip this step, and run the Norton Removal Tool.
Download the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool.
Save the file to the Windows desktop. On some browsers, the file is automatically saved to its default location.
To open the Downloads window in your browser, press the+ key.
Read the license agreement, and click.
After the computer restarts, follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall your Norton product.
