Get started with Norton Utilities Ultimate

If you purchased Norton Utilities Ultimate as an add-on to your existing Norton subscription, installation and activation happens automatically after purchase. If installation did not happen for some reason, you can download and install Norton Utilities Ultimate from your Norton account. For instructions, see Download and install Norton Utilities Ultimate.

After product activation, do the following tasks:

• Optimize and defragment your computer disks (See instructions)

• Clean up system junk, broken registry keys, and broken shortcuts (See instructions)

• Isolate and uninstall the unwanted programs (See instructions)

• Disable startup and background processes (See instructions)

• Clear your browser data such as browser cache, cookies, and browsing history (See instructions)

After the performing the above optimization tasks, you can enable Automatic Cleaning to let Norton Utilities Ultimate perform the cleaning task at regular intervals in the background. You can always view the summary of activities in the Statistics window.

If for any reason Norton Utilities Ultimate encounters any error, you can:

• Undo the recent changes made (See instructions), or

• Send the debug logs to Norton (See instructions)

After activating Norton Utilities Ultimate, you can do the following tasks:

• Perform a comprehensive check of your system that helps detect and fix common issues. Click Dashboard > Start scan.

• Clean up junk or unnecessary files (See Instructions)

• Clean up browser data (See Instructions)

• Clean up your cloud accounts (See Instructions)

• Clean up duplicate files and bad photos (See Instructions)

• Remove unwanted apps that you no longer use (See Instructions)

• Turn off unnecessary background processes that launch automatically when you start up your Mac (See Instructions)

After performing the above optimization tasks, you can enable Automatic Cleaning to let Norton Utilities Ultimate perform the cleaning task at regular intervals in the background. You can always view the summary of activities in the Statistics window.
