Cleaning up duplicate files on your Mac using Norton Utilities Ultimate

The Duplicate Finder feature detects multiple files with identical content, like photos, videos, or documents, so you can decide what to keep and what to clear out.

  1. Open Norton Utilities Ultimate.

  2. Click Duplicate Finder > Find duplicates.

  3. Tick the location(s) you want to scan for duplicate files. To add additional folders, click Add folder and select a folder.

  4. Click Scan for duplicates.

  5. After the scan completes, select the categories such as All files, Pictures, Folders, and Others to view the duplicate files.

  6. Click the three dots at the bottom of the window, and you can select the following options:

    • Keep oldest files: Automatically selects the newest version of each file for removal.

    • Keep newest files: Automatically selects the oldest version of each file for removal.

    • Deselect all: Deselects all files and allows you to manually select files for removal.

  7. After selecting the files you want to remove, click Delete.

  8. Click Done.
