Access important features from your Norton product main window on Mac

Your Norton product helps protect your Mac in the following ways:

  • Defends against viruses, spyware, malware, phishing, trojan horses, and other online threats.

  • It helps protect your private and financial information when you go online.

When you launch Norton on your Mac, you can access important features from your dashboard:

Security

Ensure your device is protected and fix issues if your computer is at risk or needs attention.

Performance

Your Norton product monitors your system performance. If it detects an increase in system resources used by any program or process, it notifies you with performance alerts.

Using File Cleanup and Startup Manager, you can maximize the speed of your computer and improve overall performance.

Privacy

The Norton VPN feature on your Norton device security product helps keep you safe while you surf the web. It prevents your online activity from being tracked by 3rd party trackers, including ISPs, or the websites that you visit, giving you private internet access. It also helps in blocking ad trackers by intercepting cookies and removing your identifying information. For more information, read Learn more about Norton VPN on Mac.

This feature is available only for users subscribed to Norton 360 plans that include VPN.

Identity or LifeLock

Identity is a feature that monitors your personal information on the dark web and notifies you if your personal information is detected.

This feature is available only for users subscribed to Norton 360 plans that include Dark Web Monitoring* or Norton 360 subscription that includes LifeLock** Identity Theft Protection. This feature is not available in all countries.

*Dark Web Monitoring within Norton 360 plans defaults to monitoring your email address and begins immediately. Sign into your account to enter additional information for monitoring purposes.

**LifeLock does not monitor all transactions at all businesses.

Settings

The default device security settings provide comprehensive protection for your computer. You do not need to change the settings unless there is a specific need.

If you want to adjust the settings, you can access most of the features from the Settings window. You can use the slider to turn on or turn off a feature. You can change the product's settings to fit your work environment. For more information, read Learn more about configuring Norton device security advanced settings on Mac.
