Remove unwanted files with File Cleanup

File Cleanup helps remove temporary and unused files from your computer.

Every time you browse or download files, your computer stores temporary files. Over time, temporary files can significantly reduce the available disk storage space on your computer and affect performance. Even though you do not need to keep them, they accumulate over time and can slow you down. The File Cleanup feature helps remove the clutter to make your computer run faster.

Run File Cleanup

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

  2. On the left pane, click Performance.

  3. In the Performance dashboard, in the File Cleanup tile, click Open.

  4. In the File Cleanup window, click Check Now/Check Again.

  5. Wait for the scan to complete.

  6. Select the file categories you want to remove and click Clean Selected/Delete Selected.

  7. If you chose all categories, click Clean All.

  8. When the activity is complete, click Done.
