Restore the computer using Norton Utilities Ultimate

System Restore helps you create snapshots of your system and lets you rollback to an earlier version and correct any changes that were made.

Run System Restore

1. Open Norton Utilities Ultimate.

2. On the left pane, click Toolbox > Recover.

3. In the Recover window, select one of the following:

   • Undo recent system changes

     Takes your computer's settings back in time before a bad update, program, or driver was installed. It will not change or remove your documents, photos, music, videos, or files.

     This selection opens the Windows System Restore wizard, which lets you choose a system restore point from a list of available restore points.

     Follow the on-screen instructions.

     To use System Restore it must first be configured as it is turned off by default.

   • Reset my computer

     This feature is available only on Windows 10 or later versions.

     Reinstalls Windows, similar to a factory reset on a mobile device. You may choose to either keep all your apps, files, photos, music and videos, or you may choose to erase everything.

     In the Choose an option window, select one of the following:

     • Keep my files: This option removes your apps and settings but keeps your personal files.

     • Remove everything: This option removes all your personal files, apps, and settings.

       Remove everything option also uninstall Norton Utilities Ultimate. You will need to reinstall Norton Utilities Ultimate once your system is fully reset.

    

4. To change the System Restore settings, click Configure System Restore.

   This selection opens Windows System Properties > System Protection, from within which you can configure restore settings, delete unneeded restore points, view which drives have System Protection enabled, and create a restore point for the drives that have it currently enabled.
