Changing your Instagram account to a Creator account

As of now, Instagram requires you to update your Instagram account to a professional account.

A professional account may be a Creator account or a Business account.

A creator account is a type of Instagram account that provides tools to help you control your online presence, understand your growth, and manage your messages. Creator accounts are public accounts, but unlike business accounts, they do not require a meta page or business.

If you are having issues adding or re-linking your Instagram account under Social Media Monitoring, follow the steps below.

1. Next to Instagram, click Add or Relink.
2. Sign in to your Instagram account.
3. When prompted to change to a professional account, click Change.
4. Choose either Creator or Business, then click Next.
   • Select the category that best describes you and click Done.
5. If you are not sure, you can click Personal blog.
6. To complete linking your Instagram account, click Allow.

Converting back to a private account

To convert your Instagram account back to a private one, you must sign in to your Instagram account settings.

1. Navigate to Account.
2. Select Edit Profile.
3. Under For professionals, select Creator tools and controls.
   • Click Switch to personal account.
