Repeated Norton SafeCam notifications are displayed for an application

Norton SafeCam protects your privacy by restricting access to your webcam for untrusted applications. It constantly monitors and notifies you about the applications that access your webcam.

In the notification window, you can choose one of the following options:

  • If you want to allow webcam access attempts by a program only once, select Allow Once from the drop-down list and click OK.

  • If you want to allow all webcam access attempts by a program, select Allow Always from the drop-down list and click OK.

If you repeatedly receive SafeCam notification for an application, you can configure the Norton SafeCam settings to manage the webcam access for that application.

Configure webcam access for specific programs

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. In the main window, double-click Security, and then click SafeCam.

  3. Click Access tab to manage the webcam access for individual programs.

    • Allow: To allow all webcam access attempts by a program, navigate to the specific program's row and select Allow from the Access drop-down list.

    • Block: To deny all webcam access attempts by a program, navigate to the specific program's row and select Block from the Access drop-down list.

    • Control: If you do not want to allow or block a program permanently, select Ask from the Access drop-down list. When you select this option, your Norton product prompts you with an alert whenever the program tries to access the webcam. You can either allow or deny access to the webcam.
