Nearly all of AT&T’s customers and many non-customers that AT&T wireless numbers interacted with may have been impacted in a massive cybersecurity incident. Cybercriminals illegally downloaded customer data from a third-party platform, gaining access to text and call logs from May 1, 2022 to October 31, 2022. While logs were exposed, the contents of calls and text messages were not. With so many phone numbers compromised, it’s important to be on the lookout for possible phishing and smishing attempts.
