Fix problem with Norton VPN if it shows blank public IP address and the connected region

To fix this problem, uninstall and reinstall Norton VPN.

Depending on your operating system, choose one of the following:

Windows

Depending on your product, choose one of the following:

Norton VPN

STEP 1

Uninstall Norton VPN

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

  2. Type in the following text, and then press Enter.

    appwiz.cpl

  3. In the list of currently installed programs, select Norton VPN, and click Remove or Uninstall.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall Norton VPN.

STEP 2

Install Norton VPN

  1. Sign in to your account.

  2. In the My Norton portal, under Secure VPN, click Download.

  3. Click Agree & Download, and then save the installer.

  4. Double click the installer file that you downloaded.

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Norton 360

To fix this problem, remove and reinstall your Norton product.

Remove and reinstall Norton

If you have Norton Family installed, uninstall it before you run the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool. For more information, read Uninstall Norton Family from your device.

  1. Download the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool.

    Save the file to the Windows desktop. In some browsers, the file is automatically saved to its default location.

  2. To open the Downloads window in your browser, press the Ctrl + J key.

  3. Double-click the NRnR icon.

  4. Read the license agreement, and click Agree.

  5. Click Remove & Reinstall.

  6. Click Continue or Remove.

  7. Click Restart Now.

    After the computer restarts, follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall your Norton product. If you have any issues related to Norton installation after the computer restarts, read Download Norton on your device.

Mac

Depending on your product, choose one of the following:

Norton VPN

STEP 1

Uninstall Norton VPN

  1. Click the Finder icon in the Dock to be in the Finder.

  2. On the menu bar, click Go > Applications to go to the 'Applications' folder.

  3. Drag and drop the Norton VPN app to Trash.

  4. Exit all programs, and restart your Mac.

STEP 2

Install Norton VPN

  1. Sign in to your account.

  2. In the My Norton portal, click the Secure VPN icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Click Agree & Download, and then save the installer.

  4. Double click the installer file that you downloaded.

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Norton 360

STEP 1

Uninstall Norton 360

  1. Click the Finder icon in the Dock to be in the Finder.

  2. On the menu bar, click Go > Applications to go to the 'Applications' folder.

  3. Drag and drop the Norton 360 app to Trash.

  4. Exit all programs, and restart your Mac.

STEP 2

Install Norton VPN

  1. Sign in to your account.

  2. In the My Norton portal, click the Norton 360 icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Click Agree & Download, and then save the installer.

  4. Double click the installer file that you downloaded.

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
