Error: "A problem occurred while trying to communicate with the server..." when activating the Norton 360 mobile app

This problem can occur if your device is connected to a VPN server. To fix this problem, temporarily disable or disconnect the VPN connection on your device and activate the Norton 360 app again.

If you have Norton VPN installed on your device, follow the instructions to turn off Norton VPN and register the Norton 360 app.

STEP 1

Turn off Norton VPN

  1. From the Home screen, launch the Norton VPN app.

  2. At the bottom of the screen, next to Norton VPN, tap the status indicator to turn it off.

STEP 2

Activate Norton 360 mobile app

  1. From the Home screen, launch the Norton 360 app.

    Wait for the initial setup to finish.

  2. Read and accept the License and Services Agreement, acknowledge our Global Privacy Statement, and then tap Sign in.

  3. Type your Norton account email address and password, and then tap Sign In.

STEP 3

Turn on Norton VPN

  1. From the Home screen, launch the Norton VPN app.

  2. At the bottom of the screen, next to Norton VPN, tap the status indicator to turn it on.
