Recover missing Norton Toolbar in Internet Explorer

Norton Toolbar is installed along with your Norton product. Norton Toolbar cannot be downloaded separately as an add-on or extension on your browser. The latest versions of Norton products are compatible with Internet Explorer version 11.

You can get the latest version of Norton products from Norton Update Center. If your Norton product is from your service provider, check with your service provider to make sure that you have the latest version.

Run LiveUpdate

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

    If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. In the Norton product main window, double-click Security, and then click LiveUpdate.

  3. When Norton LiveUpdate is finished, click OK.

  4. Run LiveUpdate until you see the message, "Your Norton product has the latest protection updates."

  5. Exit all programs, and restart the computer.

After you install all the updates for Norton, and still cannot find the Norton Toolbar in Internet Explorer, turn on the Norton Toolbar add-on.

Enable the Norton Toolbar in Internet Explorer

  1. Start Internet Explorer.

  2. Click Tools, and then click Manage Add-ons.

  3. In the list of Currently loaded add-ons, click Norton Toolbar.

  4. If the status is shown as Disabled, click Enable.

  5. Click Close.

  6. Restart Internet Explorer.
