Fix problem accessing a specific website when connected to Norton Secure VPN

When you search for a website on a search engine, do not click on the link that shows Ad in the beginning. These websites may host advertisements that are blocked by Ad tracker.

To fix this issue, try to connect your computer or mobile to a different VPN region.

Connect to a different VPN region

Depending on the operating system, choose one of the following to connect to a different VPN region:

Windows

Depending on your product, choose one of the following:

Norton Secure VPN

  1. Open Norton Secure VPN app on your desktop.

  2. In the VPN region screen, select the geographic region that you want from the drop-down list.

Norton 360

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

    In the My Norton window, click the drop-down arrow next to Secure VPN and click VPN region.

  2. In the VPN region screen, select the geographic region that you want from the drop-down list.

Mac

Depending on your product, choose one of the following:

Norton Secure VPN

  1. Open Norton Secure VPN app on your desktop.

  2. In the VPN region screen, select the geographic region that you want from the drop-down list.

Norton 360

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

    In the My Norton window, click the drop-down arrow next to Secure VPN and click VPN region.

  2. In the VPN region screen, select the geographic region that you want from the drop-down list.

Android

Depending on your product, choose one of the following:

Norton Secure VPN

  1. Launch Secure VPN.

  2. Tap the location icon at the bottom of the screen.

  3. In the Region screen, select the geographic region you want from the list.

Norton Secure VPN (version 24.x and above)

To know the version number of your product, read Find the version number of your Norton product.
  1. Launch Secure VPN.

  2. On the Norton Secure VPN home screen, select the geographic region that you want from the drop-down list.

iOS

Depending on your product, choose one of the following:

Norton Secure VPN

  1. Launch Secure VPN.

  2. Tap the location icon at the bottom of the screen.

  3. In the Region screen, select the geographic region you want from the list.

Norton Secure VPN (version 24.x and above)

To know the version number of your product, read Find the version number of your Norton product.
  1. Launch Secure VPN.

  2. On the Norton Secure VPN home screen, tap the drop-down list next to Fastest location.

  3. On the Change your location screen, select the geographic region that you want from the drop-down list.

You may also try accessing the website using a different browser. If the issue persists, then you may have to temporarily unblock Ad tracker to visit the website.

Unblock Ad-tracker feature

Depending on the operating system, choose one of the following:

Windows

Depending on your product, choose one of the following:

Norton Secure VPN

  1. Open Norton Secure VPN app on your desktop.

  2. Click the Settings icon at the top of the Norton Secure VPN app and click Ad Tracker Blocking.

  3. Under Ad Tracker Blocking, slide Block Ad Trackers to disable Ad Trackers.

Norton 360

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

    In the My Norton window, click the drop-down arrow next to Secure VPN, and click Ad Tracking.

  2. Click the Ad Tracking tab and slide Block Ad Trackers to disable Ad Trackers.

Norton Secure VPN and Norton 360 (version 24.x and above)

To know the version number of your product, read Find the version number of your Norton product.

  1. Open Norton Secure VPN app on your desktop.

  2. On the Norton home page, on the left pane, click Ad Tracker Blocking.

  3. In the Ad Tracker Blocking screen, move the slider to disable Block ad trackers when VPN is on.

Mac

Depending on your product, choose one of the following:

Norton Secure VPN

  1. Open Norton Secure VPN app on your desktop.

  2. Click the Settings icon at the top of the Norton Secure VPN app and click Ad Tracker Blocking.

  3. Under Ad Tracker Blocking, slide Block Ad Trackers to disable Ad Trackers.

Norton 360

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

    In the My Norton window, click the drop-down arrow next to Secure VPN, and click Ad Tracking.

  2. Click the Ad Tracking tab and slide Block Ad Trackers to disable Ad Trackers.

Android

Depending on your product, choose one of the following:

Norton Secure VPN

  1. Launch Secure VPN.

  2. Tap the Ad Tracker icon at the bottom of the screen.

  3. In the Ad Tracker screen, slide Block Ad Trackers to disable Ad Trackers.

    Ad Tracker blocking works only when Virtual Private Network is turned on.

Norton Secure VPN (version 24.x and above)

To know the version number of your product, read Find the version number of your Norton product.

  1. Launch Secure VPN.

  2. Tap the Menu icon on the top-left corner of the screen and click Settings.

  3. In the Settings screen, tap VPN Preferences and then tap Ad Tracking Blocker.

  4. In the Ad Tracking Blocker screen, move the slider to disable Block Ad Trackers.

iOS

Depending on your product, choose one of the following:

Norton Secure VPN

  1. Launch Secure VPN.

  2. Tap the Ad Tracker icon at the bottom of the screen.

  3. In the Ad Tracker screen, slide Block Ad Trackers to disable Ad Trackers.

    Ad Tracker blocking works only when Virtual Private Network is turned on.
