Norton Core speed test results

The speed test on the Norton Core app shows the speed between your Internet service provider (ISP) and your router. It is usually the best speed you can get with your Internet connection.

The speed test that you run from your computer or your mobile device shows the speed between your ISP and your device. That data must pass through Norton Core.

Most of the time, the speed test results on the Norton Core app, and on your device are same. However, to ensure security, occasionally, Norton Core inspect some data packets coming from the Internet. This extra inspection can slow down the speed and you may see different speed test results on your computer or mobile device than in Norton Core app.

If you constantly experience low Internet speed on your computer or mobile device, check the Network Inspection settings.

Check the Network Inspection settings

  1. Launch your Norton Core app.

  2. On the top-left corner, tap the menu icon.

  3. Tap Settings > Security > Network Inspection.

  4. For optimized performance, make sure that the Inspection Level is set to Default (recommended).

    If the Network Inspection is set to Advanced, it may slow down the network connection speed.
