The Access Local Devices with VPN feature allows users to access devices and services on their local network without routing this traffic through VPN. This ensures seamless connectivity to local resources while maintaining VPN protection for other internet traffic.

To use the Access Local Devices with VPN feature, depending on your operating system, choose one of the following:

Windows

To know the version number of your Norton application, open your Norton app and navigate to Settings.
If you are using Norton VPN Standard (version 6.x and below), you need to download and install the latest version of Norton VPN. To know more, read Download and install Norton VPN.

Norton VPN (version 24.x and above)

  1. Open Norton VPN on your desktop.

  2. On the Norton dashboard, do one of the following, depending on your VPN plan:

    • Norton VPN Standard: Click VPN Preferences tab and move the slider to turn on Enable local device access when using VPN.

    • Norton VPN Plus/Ultimate: Click Settings. In the VPN Preferences tab, move the slider to enable Access local devices when using VPN.

Mac

To know the version number of your Norton product, open your Norton app and navigate to Settings or go to Help > About.

Norton VPN (version 24.x and above)

  1. Open Norton VPN on your desktop.

  2. On the Norton dashboard, do one of the following, depending on your VPN plan:

    • Norton VPN Standard: Click Ad Tracker Blocking. In the screen that appears, move the slider to enable Access Local Devices with VPN.

    • Norton VPN Plus/Ultimate: Click Settings. In the Settings window, move the slider to enable Access Local Devices with VPN.

Android

When the Access Local Devices with VPN feature is enabled in Android, the Kill Switch option cannot be turned on, and vice versa.
To know the version number of your Norton product, open the Norton app and tap the Menu icon > Settings > About.

Norton VPN (version 4.x and above)

This applies to Norton VPN Standard, Norton VPN Plus and Norton VPN Ultimate users.

  1. Launch Norton VPN.

  2. Tap the Settings icon on the top-right corner of the screen.

  3. In the VPN Configurations screen, move the slider to enable Access Local Devices with VPN.
