Resolve issue in receiving an opt-in text for text message alerts

LifeLock sends an opt-in text message to activate the phone number that you choose to receive text message alerts. If you did not receive the opt-in text, use the information below to help you resolve the problem.

  1. Sign in to your Norton.

  2. Click MONITORED INFO tab.

  3. On the CONTACT PREFERENCES section, next to Text Message, unselect the number and then add the number again.

You can also resend the text by visiting Manage Account and scrolling to the Alert Preferences section. If you still have not received an opt-in text, try these steps:

  1. Double check that your mobile device telephone number listed is correct.

  2. Ensure that your cell phone carrier is supported.

  3. If your carrier is supported, text "START" to 432578.

  4. If you still do not receive your opt-in text, contact your carrier to ensure that no block exists on the phone number. You should ask your carrier the following questions:

    • "Does my plan have the ability to send and receive SMS messages from a standard rate short code of 432578?"

    • "If I text help to 432578 (a standard rate short code) I don't get a response. Why not?"

    • "Does my plan have any purchase blocking enabled? If so, can you enable purchasing?"
