How to transfer Norton to a new device from your service provider

Your Norton subscription comes with a limited number of seats to install Norton on various devices. If you have used up your licenses, you may need to remove a license from an unused device to allow installation on a new device.

Follow the instructions to remove a license so that you can install your Norton product on a new device.

STEP 1

Remove a license that you no longer use

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

  2. Depending on your operating system, do one of the following:

    • For Windows: Next to the Device Security tile, click the drop-down arrow and select Manage My Devices.

    • For Mac: Click Add Device, select Get Started > Next > Close the Install on another device Window.

  3. Sign in if you already have a Norton account or service provider's credentials.

    If you do not have a Norton account, click Create account and complete the sign-up process.

  4. In the top-right corner of the page, hover over the account icon or photo and click My Subscriptions.

  5. On the My Account page, on the My Subscriptions tab, select the product you want to manage.

  6. Under the product, click Manage Licenses.

  7. In the pop-up window, choose the device that you no longer use, and then under Remove License, click the bin icon.

  8. Click Remove to confirm.

STEP 2

Install Norton on a new device

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

  2. Depending on your operating system, do one of the following:

    • For Windows: Next to the Device Security tile, click the drop-down arrow and select Manage My Devices.

    • For Mac: Click Add Device, select Get Started and then Next.

  3. Sign in if you already have a Norton account or service provider's credentials.

    If you do not have a Norton account, click Create account and complete the sign-up process.

    If there are no remaining installs, select Free an install and remove a license from the device before proceeding to the My Subscriptions tab and selecting Download.

  4. Click Send Download Link.

  5. Enter an email address you can access on your other device and click Send.

    An email will be sent to the email address with instructions to install the Norton product.

  6. On the device where you want to download Norton, locate and open the email that you received from "The Norton Team".

  7. Click Install Now.

  8. Click Agree and Download.

  9. Save the file on your computer and double-click the file to install your Norton product. By default, the file will be saved in the Downloads folder on both Mac and Windows computers.

    Follow the on-screen instructions.
