To resolve this problem, restart your computer in Safe Mode with Networking and reinstall Norton.

Start the computer in Safe Mode with Networking (Windows 11, Windows 10, or Windows 8)

1. After the computer is powered on or restarted, wait for the Windows logo (or the manufacturer's logo) to appear.

2. As soon as the Windows logo appears, press and hold the power button until the device shuts down.

3. Turn the device on again and repeat step 2.

4. Turn on the device a third time. Windows should display the Automatic Repair screen.

5. Select Advanced options. In Windows 8, this option is labeled Windows Startup Settings instead.

6. Once in Windows Recovery Environment, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.

7. After the restart, select 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking

Uninstall the Norton app (Remove only)

1. Download the Norton 360 Remover tool.
   Save the file to the Windows desktop. On some browsers, the file is automatically saved to its default location.

2. To open the Downloads window in your browser, press Ctrl + J.

3. Double-click the Norton_360_remover icon.

4. To uninstall the Norton device security app, click Remove.

5. To confirm, click Uninstall.

6. After the uninstall is complete, click Restart Now.
