Import logins to Norton Password Manager vault

Norton Password Manager extension allows you to import your local vault data from your desktop. You can also import the saved logins from Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Dashlane, 1Password, LastPass, and McAfee TrueKey.

The Import feature lets you import your saved logins from Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Dashlane, 1Password, LastPass, and McAfee True Key into Norton Password Manager vault extension in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge on Windows.

Import from Norton Password Manager

  1. Open your browser.

  2. Click Norton Password Manager on the top-right corner of the browser.

  3. In the screen that appears, under Set Up Your Web Browser, click Next.

  4. Sign in to your account.

  5. Do one of the following:

    • If you have set up Mobile Unlock, click Approve on your mobile device to log in to your Norton Password Manager vault.

    • If you have not set up Mobile Unlock, click Enter your vault password on your Norton Password Manager browser extension.

  6. In the Unlock your vault window, type your vault password and click Unlock.

  7. On the top-right corner of the Norton Password Manager extension, click Sample alt text and click Import data to my vault.
  8. In the Import Passwords window, under Source, select Norton Password Manager (CSV).

    Norton Password Manager (CSV) file is generated when you export the vault. To export the Norton Password Manager data, refer to Export your Norton Password Manager data.
  9. Click Select File and navigate to the CSV file which was exported from Norton Password Manager. You can also drag and drop files into the box.
    If you have a CSV file exported from your local vault, you can use this option to import the file into your Norton Password Manager extension.

  10. In the Import Data window of Norton Password Manager, select the data you want to protect in your vault, and click Import

  11. Click Finish.

Import logins from Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox

  1. On the top-right corner of the browser window, click the Norton Password Manager icon.

  2. Sign in to your vault.

  3. On the top-right corner of the Norton Password Manager extension, click Sample alt text and click Import data to my vault.
  4. Depending on your browser version, in the Import Passwords window, under Source, select one of the following:.

    • Chrome and Firefox passwords

    • Chrome and Firefox (64-bit) passwords

    To find whether your browser is 32 or 64 bit:

    • For Mozilla Firefox: On the top-right, click Open menu > Help > About Firefox.

    • For Google Chrome: On the top-right, click Customize and control Google Chrome > Help > About Google Chrome.

  5. Click Download.

  6. At the bottom of your browser, click the .zip file. Do not close your browser.

  7. From the .zip file, extract and run the import_password.exe file.

  8. After running the app, find the norton_logins.json file on your desktop.

  9. Click Select File, and navigate to the norton_logins.json file on your desktop.

    You can also drag and drop files into the box.

  10. In the Import your Data window, select the logins you want to protect in your vault, and click Import.

  11. Click Finish.

Import logins from Dashlane

  1. On the top-right corner of the browser window, click the Norton Password Manager icon.

  2. Sign in to your vault.

  3. On the top-right corner of the Norton Password Manager extension, click Sample alt text and click Import data to my vault.
  4. In the Import Passwords window, under Source, select Dashlane.

  5. Open the Dashlane application.

  6. Click on File, then click Export, and select Unsecured archive (readable) in CSV format.

    The logins are exported from Dashlane as a CSV file.

  7. Click Select File and navigate to the CSV file which was exported from Dashlane You can also drag and drop files into the box

  8. In the Import your Data window, select the logins you want to protect in your vault, and click Import.

  9. Click Finish.

Import logins from 1Password

  1. On the top-right corner of the browser window, click the Norton Password Manager icon.

  2. Sign in to your vault.

  3. On the top-right corner of the Norton Password Manager extension, click Sample alt text and click Import data to your vault.
  4. In the Import Passwords window, under Source, select 1Password.

  5. Open the 1Password application.

  6. Under categories, click Logins.

  7. Depending on your operating system, do one of the following:

    • On Windows: Select the logins you want to export, then right-click and select Export.

    • On Mac: Select the logins you want to export, then click File > Export > All Items.

    The logins are exported from 1Password as a CSV file.

  8. Click Select File and navigate to the CSV file which was exported from 1Password. You can also drag and drop files into the box

  9. In the Import your Data window, select the logins you want to protect in your vault, and click Import.

  10. Click Finish.

Import logins from LastPass (non-binary version)

  1. On the top-right corner of the browser window, click the Norton Password Manager icon.

  2. Sign in to your vault.

  3. On the top-right corner of the Norton Password Manager extension, click Sample alt text and click Import data to your vault.
  4. In the Import Passwords window, under Source, select LastPass.

  5. On the top-right corner of the browser window, click the LastPass icon.

  6. Click More Options, then click Advanced, and then select Export.

    The logins appear in CSV format in a new tab.

  7. Copy the information and paste it in the given text area.

  8. Click Import.

  9. In the Import your Data window, select the logins you want to protect in your vault, and click Import.

  10. Click Finish.

Import logins from LastPass (binary version)

  1. On the top-right corner of the browser window, click the Norton Password Manager icon.

  2. Sign in to your vault.

  3. On the top-right corner of the Norton Password Manager extension, click Sample alt text and click Import data to your vault.
  4. In the Import Passwords window, under Source, select LastPass (binary version).

  5. On the top-right corner of the browser window, click the LastPass icon.

  6. Click More Options, then click Advanced.

  7. Click Export and then select LastPass CSV file.

    The logins are exported from LastPass as a CSV file.

  8. Click Select File and navigate to the CSV file which was exported from Dashlane You can also drag and drop files into the box

  9. In the Import your Data window, select the logins you want to protect in your vault, and click Import.

  10. Click Finish.

Import logins from McAfee True Key

  1. On the top-right corner of the browser window, click the Norton Password Manager icon.

  2. Sign in to your vault.

  3. On the top-right corner of the Norton Password Manager extension, click Sample alt text and click Import data to your vault.
  4. In the Import your Data window, under Source, select McAfee True Key.

  5. On the top-right corner of the browser window, click the True Key icon.

  6. Click the Settings icon and click App Settings.

  7. Under Export Data, click Export.

    Enter the master password when you receive a prompt.

    The logins are exported from True Key as a CSV file.

  8. Click Select File and navigate to the CSV file which was exported from Dashlane You can also drag and drop files into the box

  9. In the Import your Data window, select the data you want to protect in your vault, and click Import.

  10. Click Finish.
