Configure PC Cleanup settings in Norton Utilities Ultimate

The settings window in Norton Utilities Ultimate lets you modify how junk files are removed and which junk file patterns are recognized. Files that you have selected to exclude from within the PC Cleanup tool appear in the corresponding exclusions list.

Configure All-in-One PC Cleanup settings

  1. Open Norton Utilities Ultimate.

  2. On the left pane, click Toolbox > Clean.

  3. In the Clean window, click All-in-One PC Cleanup.

  4. In the All-in-One PC Cleanup window, under Analyze now, click Settings.

  5. In the Settings window, under PC Cleanup, do one of the following:

    • In the Internet tab, choose whether the junk Internet files need to be deleted or shredded. Also, any items that are chosen for Exclusions are listed in the Internet tab

    • In the Other tab, you can modify the Junk File patterns that have been set up in Norton Utilities Ultimate. You can set up new junk file patterns, edit existing ones, delete junk file types from the list, or reset to Norton Utilities Ultimate's default junk file settings

  6. Click Exit.

Configure Internet Cleanup settings

  1. Open Norton Utilities Ultimate.

  2. On the left pane, click Toolbox > Clean.

  3. In the Clean window, click Internet Cleanup.

  4. In the Internet Cleanup window, under Analyze now, click Settings.

  5. In the Settings window, under PC Cleanup, do one of the following:

    • In the Internet tab, choose whether the junk Internet files need to be deleted or shredded. Also, any items that are chosen for Exclusions are listed in the Internet tab

    • In the Other tab, you can modify the Junk File patterns that have been set up in Norton Utilities Ultimate. You can set up new junk file patterns, edit existing ones, delete junk file types from the list, or reset to Norton Utilities Ultimate's default junk file settings

  6. Click Exit.

Configure Windows Cleanup settings

  1. Open Norton Utilities Ultimate.

  2. On the left pane, click Toolbox > Clean.

  3. In the Clean window, click Windows Cleanup.

  4. In the Windows Cleanup window, under Analyze now, click Settings.

  5. In the Settings window, under PC Cleanup, do one of the following:

    • In the Internet tab, choose whether the junk Internet files need to be deleted or shredded. Also, any items that are chosen for Exclusions are listed in the Internet tab

    • In the Other tab, you can modify the Junk File patterns that have been set up in Norton Utilities Ultimate. You can set up new junk file patterns, edit existing ones, delete junk file types from the list, or reset to Norton Utilities Ultimate's default junk file settings

  6. Click Exit.

Configure Registry Cleanup settings

  1. Open Norton Utilities Ultimate.

  2. On the left pane, click Toolbox > Clean.

  3. In the Clean window, click Registry Cleanup.

  4. In the Registry Cleanup window, under Analyze now, click Settings.

  5. In the Settings window, under PC Cleanup, do one of the following:

    • In the Internet tab, choose whether the junk Internet files need to be deleted or shredded. Also, any items that are chosen for Exclusions are listed in the Internet tab

    • In the Other tab, you can modify the Junk File patterns that have been set up in Norton Utilities Ultimate. You can set up new junk file patterns, edit existing ones, delete junk file types from the list, or reset to Norton Utilities Ultimate's default junk file settings

  6. Click Exit.

Configure Advanced Uninstaller

  1. Open Norton Utilities Ultimate.

  2. On the left pane, click Toolbox > Clean.

  3. In the Clean window, click Advanced Uninstaller.

  4. In the Advanced Uninstaller window, select the program that you want to uninstall and click Uninstall.
