Some streaming services provide content that is restricted to specific geographic regions. These services may implement measures to prevent access if they detect the use of VPNs, proxies, or other methods intended to navigate around these regional restrictions.
If you encounter this issue, for example, when traveling and wanting to access your local content, try the suggested steps below in the following order.
Disable IPv6 on your device. To disable IPv6 on your computer, follow the steps below:
Depending on the operating system that you are using, choose one of the following:
Right-click the network icon in the notification tray on the bottom-right corner of the screen and select Open Network & Internet settings.
In the window that appears, click Network and Sharing Center.
Click on your network adapter and click Properties.
In the Properties window that appears, locate Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and uncheck it.
Click OK.
Click the Windows icon in the bottom-left corner of the screen and type Network Connection.
In the results that appear, click View Network Connections.
In the Network Connections window, right-click on your network adapter, then click Properties.
In the Properties window that appears, locate Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and uncheck it.
Click OK.
Click the Apple Icon at the top-left and click System Settings.
Click Network.
Select your active network connection (WiFi or Ethernet).
Click Details.
Click TCP/IP.
Find Configure IPv6.
Set it to Off.
Click OK.
Restart your Mac.
If the issue persists, change the VPN protocol.
The Norton VPN Protocol setting is available in Norton VPN on Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS, and in Norton 360 for Android and macOS. If you are using Norton 360 for Windows or iOS, skip this step, as this setting is not currently available in those apps.
To change the VPN protocol, depending on the operating system, choose one of the following:

Open Norton VPN on your desktop.
Click Settings in the left pane.
On the right side, under the VPN Preferences tab, scroll down to the VPN Protocol Settings section, and choose one of the following.
Automatic (recommended)
WireGuard
Mimic
OpenVPN (UDP)
OpenVPN (TCP)
The VPN Protocol Setting is currently unavailable in Norton 360 for Windows.
Depending on your product, choose one of the following:
Open Norton VPN on your Mac.
Click Settings in the left pane.
On the right side, under the VPN Preferences tab, scroll down to the VPN Protocol Settings section, and choose one of the following.
Automatic (recommended)
IPSec
WireGuard
Mimic
Open Norton VPN on your Mac.
Click Privacy in the left pane.
Click Open under the Secure VPN.
Click the Settings tab, scroll down to the VPN Protocol Settings section, and choose one of the following.

Depending on your product, choose one of the following:
Open Norton VPN.
Tap the VPN (first tile) at the bottom.
Tap the Settings (Gear icon) at the top-right side.
On the VPN Preferences screen, scroll down and tap the VPN Protocol Settings section, and choose one of the following.

Open Norton 360.
Tap the Menu (second tile) at the bottom.
From the Menu screen, under the Privacy section, tap VPN.
Tap the Settings (Gear icon) at the top-right side.
On this screen, scroll down and tap the VPN Protocol Settings section, and choose one of the following.
Automatic (recommended)
WireGuard
Mimic
OpenVPN
Depending on your product, choose one of the following:
Open Norton VPN.
Tap the VPN (first tile) at the bottom.
Tap the Settings (Gear icon) at the top-right side.
On the VPN Preferences screen, scroll down and tap the VPN Protocol Settings section, and choose one of the following.
IPSec
WireGuard
Mimic
The VPN Protocol Setting is currently unavailable in Norton 360 for iOS.
If the issue persists, Refresh the IP manually.
The "Manual IP Refresh" feature is applicable only for Norton VPN on Windows and macOS. You can ignore this step if you are using Norton VPN on other Operating Systems or Norton 360.
The Manual IP refresh feature in Norton VPN allows you to refresh your IP address while maintaining your chosen virtual location. This can be helpful if you are experiencing issues with streaming, website loading, or frequent CAPTCHAs.
To manually refresh the IP, depending on the operating system, choose one of the following:
Depending on your product, choose one of the following:
Open and connect to the VPN.
Find the Manual IP Refresh button.
Confirm Kill Switch (if prompted).
Get your new IP and retry the site.
Note:

Find the Manual IP Refresh button.

If the issue persists, connect to a different VPN region.
To manually change the geographic region, depending on the operating system, choose one of the following:
Some Advanced VPN features, including additional regions, city-level region selection, Double VPN, and IP Rotation, are currently available on Norton VPN for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS, and Norton 360 on macOS only. Support for Norton 360 on Windows and mobile platforms will be included in a later rollout.
Depending on your product, choose one of the following:
Open Norton VPN on your desktop.
On the Norton dashboard,
Click the down arrow next to the current region (above the Connect button).
A list of available countries/regions will appear. From this list, select a different Country or City to connect.
Open Norton 360.
On the Norton dashboard, click Privacy on the left side of the window.
In the Privacy window, under Secure VPN, click Open.
In the Secure VPN window, under the Connection tab, click Change Location.
In the Change VPN location window, a list of available countries will appear. From this list, select a different country to connect.
Depending on your product, choose one of the following:
Open Norton VPN on your Mac.
On the Norton dashboard,
Click the down arrow next to the current region (above the Connect button).
A list of available countries/regions will appear. From this list, select a different country or city to connect.
Open Norton 360.
On the Norton dashboard, click Privacy on the left side of the window.
In the Privacy window, under Secure VPN, click Open.
In the Secure VPN window, under the Connection tab, click Change.
In the Change VPN location window, a list of available countries/regions will appear. From this list, select a different country or city to connect.
Depending on your product, choose one of the following:
Launch Norton VPN.
Tap VPN (first tile) at the bottom, then tap the down arrow next to the current region (below the Connect button).
On the Change VPN Location screen, select a different country or city from the list.
Launch Norton 360.
At the bottom of the main screen, tap Menu, then tap VPN.
Tap the down arrow next to the current region (below the Connect button).
On the Change VPN Location screen, select a different country from the list.
Depending on your product, choose one of the following:
Launch Norton VPN.
Tap VPN (first tile) at the bottom, then tap the down arrow next to the current region (below the Connect button).
On the Change VPN Location screen, select a different region from the list.
Launch Norton 360.
On the Norton VPN screen, tap the drop-down list next to Fastest location.
Tap the down arrow next to the current region (below the Connect button).
On the Change VPN Location screen, select a different country from the list.
Some streaming services, like Disney+, Hulu, and ChatGPT (website), may have issues loading when the VPN is enabled. If this occurs, reload or refresh the page a few times.
You may occasionally encounter issues logging in to other streaming services when the VPN is enabled. If you face this issue, log in to your streaming service and turn on the VPN from your desktop or mobile device.
Open Norton VPN on your desktop or mobile device.
Depending on your operating system, choose one of the following:
On Windows and Mac: On the Norton dashboard, click Disconnect to disable VPN.
On Android and iOS: Tap VPN(first tile) at the bottom and Tap Disconnect to disable VPN.
Launch your streaming service and sign in.
Open your VPN product on your desktop or mobile device.
Connect to your desired country and access the content you wish to watch.
If the issue persists, disable Ad Tracker Blocking on your device.
To turn off the Tracker blocker settings, depending on the operating system, choose one of the following:
Depending on your product, choose one of the following:
Open Norton VPN on your desktop.
On the Norton dashboard, do one of the following, depending on your VPN plan:
Norton VPN Standard: Click Ad Tracker Blocking. In the screen that appears, move the slider to disable Tracker Blocker.
Norton VPN Plus/Ultimate: Click Settings. In the Settings window, move the slider to disable Tracker Blocker.
Open Norton 360.
Click Privacy in the left pane.
Click Open under the Secure VPN
Click the Ad Tracker Blocking tab at the top. In the screen that appears, move the slider to disable Tracker Blocker.
Depending on your product, choose one of the following:
Open Norton VPN on your Mac.
On the Norton dashboard, do one of the following, depending on your VPN plan:
Norton VPN Standard: Click Ad Tracker Blocking. In the screen that appears, move the slider to disable Tracker Blocker
Norton VPN Plus/Ultimate: Click Settings. In the Settings window, move the slider to disable Tracker Blocker.
Open Norton 360.
Click Privacy in the left pane.
Click Open under the Secure VPN
Click the Ad Tracker Blocking tab at the top. In the screen that appears, move the slider to disable Tracker Blocker.
Depending on your product, choose one of the following:
Launch Norton VPN.
On the Norton VPN screen, tap the Settings (a gear) icon at the top-right.
On the VPN Preferences screen, tap Ad Tracker Blocking. In the screen that appears, move the slider to disable Block ad Trackers.
Launch Norton 360.
At the bottom of the main screen, tap Menu, then tap VPN.
On the Norton VPN screen, tap the Settings (a gear) icon at the top-right.
On the VPN Preferences screen, tap Ad Tracker Blocking. In the screen that appears, move the slider to disable Block ad Trackers.
Depending on your product, choose one of the following:
Launch Norton VPN.
On the Norton VPN screen, tap the Settings (a gear) icon at the top-right.
On the VPN Preferences screen, tap Ad Tracking Blocker. In the screen that appears, move the slider to disable Block Ad Tackers.
Launch Norton 360.
At the bottom of the main screen, tap Menu, then tap VPN.
On the Norton VPN screen, tap the Settings (a gear) icon at the top-right.
On the VPN Preferences screen, tap Ad Tracking Blocker. In the screen that appears, move the slider to disable Block Ad Trackers.
If the issue persists, try using a different browser to access the streaming website or use your browser in incognito mode and check if you can access the streaming website.
