Automatic Cleaning runs silently in the background with no actions required from you and frees up space on your PC by removing unwanted items, such as broken shortcuts and registry items, system junk, and browser data.
You can schedule Automatic Cleaning to run automatically on specific dates and times or at periodic intervals. Norton Utilities Ultimate performs Automatic Cleaning when it detects your computer is idle. If the scheduled session begins when your computer is in use, it runs in the background without stopping your work.
Ensure your computer remains powered on at the scheduled time for Automatic Cleaning to complete.
Open Norton Utilities Ultimate.
On the main menu, click Settings.
In the Settings window, click Auto-Clean.
Under Automatic Cleaning, click the slider to turn it on (green).
Select the frequency, day, and time from the drop-down list.
Select the items that you want to include in your Automatic Cleaning.
You can use the drop-down arrow next to each item to narrow down to the exact items that are included in the Automatic Cleaning.
Once Automatic Cleaning is completed according to the above-specified schedule, Norton Utilities Ultimate displays a summary of the scan results. You can also view the details of the cleaned items.
Open Norton Utilities Ultimate.
Do the following:
If you want to schedule automatic scanning for removing the junk files, then click Disk Cleaner > Change.
If you want to schedule automatic scanning for removing the browser data, then click Browser Cleaner > Change.
Select the frequency, day, and time from the drop-down list and enable the relevant options, and click Save.
