Smart Firewall Program Control tab lets you control how the programs that are on your computer access the Internet. In the list of programs, you can modify the Internet access for each program, and add or remove a program from the list. Your options are:
| Trust |
Displays the trust level of a program. Norton collects this information from the Norton Community and assigns the following trust levels:
You can set the access level for each program based on the trust level. |
| Program |
Displays the name of the program, or the name of the program's executable file and the location of the program. |
| Access |
Displays the level of access that the program has. You can change the access level by selecting a different entry from the drop-down list. Your options are:
Changing the access level of the program from the default settings can change the behavior of the application. We recommend that you perform this action carefully. |
| Add |
Lets you add a program to Program Control manually. |
| Modify |
Opens the Rules window, in which you can customize rules for a selected program. |
| Remove |
Lets you remove a selected program from Program Control. When you remove the program, Smart Firewall removes the Program Rules for this program. In this case, the firewall displays alerts when a program accesses the network when the Automatic Program Control feature is turned off. |
| Rename |
Lets you rename the selected program name. The file name in the folder path does not change. |
