You can easily restore your Cloud Backup data if you are the victim of ransomware or other malware or experience unrecoverable hardware issues. You can restore entire backup sets or specific files in a backup set. You can also determine where to restore backed-up files.
Follow the instructions in this article to help restore the files and data you previously backed up using your Norton protection.
Restore happens as per the configured backup set. If you restore to a new device, you cannot expect Norton to restore your files as per the desired folder structure of your old device.
Open your Norton device security product.
On the left pane, click Security.
In the Security dashboard, in the Cloud Backup tile, click Open.
In the Cloud Backup window, select your backup location.
Your options are:
Cloud Backup
Local backups
Next to the backup set from which you want to restore files, click Restore or the icon.
In the window that appears, select the items you want to restore, and then click Restore.
In the window that appears, select a restore location:
Original Location: Select this option to restore the backed-up files to their original location.
Choose Location: Select this option if you don't want to restore to the original location. You must navigate and choose a folder where you want the files to be restored.
Wait for the restore activity to complete. The time taken to restore may vary depending on the file count and size.
When the restore activity is complete, click Done.
Sign in to your account.
In the My Norton page, in the Cloud Backup tile, click View Backup Sets.
Select the backup set that has the file you want to download.
Navigate to the file you want to download.
If you know the file name, you can use the search functionality to search for the particular file.
Use the Filter option to filter out the pictures and documents.
Move the mouse pointer over the file name and click Download.
