Set up Password Recovery Key to recover Norton Password Manager vault password
The Vault Access Recovery option in Norton Password Manager helps you setup a recovery key to get back into your vault if you forget your vault password.
You can set up password recovery key from your browser extension or from your mobile app. Choose one of the following to set up the password recovery key:
Norton Password Manager browser extension

Launch your browser.

Click Norton Password Manager on the top-right corner of the screen.

Do one of the following:

If you have signed in to your Norton account.

In the pop-up screen that appears, click Unlock vault.

If you have not signed in to your Norton account.

In the pop-up screen that appears, click Sign In and follow the on-screen instructions to sign in to your account.

In the Your vault is locked screen, enter your vault password, and click Unlock vault.

In the screen that appears, do one of the following:

If you have set up Passwordless Vault Unlock on your mobile device, you will receive a prompt to unlock your vault on the mobile device. Tap Approve on the prompt to unlock your vault.

If you have not set up Passwordless Vault Unlock on your mobile device, click Use vault password instead on your Norton Password Manager extension.
In the screen that appears, enter the vault password and click Unlock.

Click Norton Password Manager extension icon on the top-right corner of the screen and click Open Web App.

In the Settings window, under Vault Settings, next to Vault access recovery, click Set up now.
Enter the vault password if you receive a prompt and click Unlock.

In the Recover access to your vault screen, next to Download Recovery key, click Download PDF.
In the Download recovery key prompt, click Download.
A PDF file with a one-time vault recovery key is downloaded on your computer. Save this recovery key to recover access to your vault in case you forget your vault password.
You can only use this key once to recover access to your vault. Make sure to create a new recovery key after you changed your vault password.
Norton Password Manager mobile app

Open Norton Password Manager app on your mobile device.

Login to the Norton Password Manager app using your biometric credentials.

Tap the Menu icon on the top-left corner of the screen.

Tap Vault access recovery.

In the Vault access recovery screen, tap Recovery key.

In the recovery key screen, note down the one-time recovery key that appears and click Activate now.
For security reasons, copying the one-time recovery key is not allowed. -
In the Activate recovery key screen, enter the recovery key and click Activate.

Click Activate.
In the prompt that appears, click Download recovery key.
A PDF file with a one-time vault recovery key is downloaded on your computer. Save this recovery key to recover access to your vault in case you forget your vault password.
You can only use this key once to recover access to your vault. Make sure to create a new recovery key after you changed your vault password.
