Configure Norton Family house rules for app supervision
App supervision is supported on Android phones, tablets, and Windows devices.
App supervision feature is only available on Windows 8 or later versions. This feature is not supported on UWP or Microsoft Store based apps and the apps that run as a service.
App supervision shows you the apps that your children have downloaded on their Android phones, tablet, and Windows devices. It lets you restrict your children from using certain apps, including YouTube, Settings, and Facebook. You can also see the amount of time your children spend on each of their apps. However, app usage time can be retrieved only from devices that run on Android 8 or later.
You cannot update this house rule if your child's device does not support the app supervision feature.
Norton website or Norton Family app for iOS
- Sign in to your account.
- Select the child for whom you want to set app supervision.
- On the App section, click or tap the settings
icon.
- To start or stop App supervision, move the On/Off switch to On or Off.
- To block or allow an app, move the On/Off switch against the app to On or Off.
- Click or tap Save.
Norton Family parental app for Android
- Open Norton Family parental control app in Parent mode.
- Tap the child whom you want to manage.
- Tap House Rules.
- Tap App.
- To start or stop App supervision, tap the Off or On button.
- Under Devices, tap the device platform to manage the apps on your devices.
- To block an app, on the All Apps tab, select the apps you want to block for your child. You can also search for the app by typing the app name in the Search Apps field.
- To allow a blocked app, on the Blocked Apps tab, tap the apps that you want to unblock.
- To block or unblock all the apps, tap the more options
icon, and tap Allow all or Block all.
If you are using a Google account to sign in to the Norton Family account, make sure that you sign out from your Google account in your browser after finishing the Norton Family setup.
