Norton Secure VPN displays "No Internet connection" status on Mac

To fix this problem, restart Norton Secure VPN.

Restart Norton Secure VPN

  1. Start Norton Secure VPN.

  2. In the top-right corner, click the user icon , and click Sign out.
  3. Click the settings icon and click Quit Norton Secure VPN.
  4. Restart your device.

    After you restart your device, start Norton Secure VPN, and then sign in using your Norton account.

I have Norton 360

To fix this problem, run LiveUpdate and restart your computer. If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall your Norton device security product.
STEP 1

Run LiveUpdate

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

  2. In the My Norton main window, under Device Security, click LiveUpdate.

  3. Click View Summary to view the list of updates that were downloaded and installed on your Mac.

  4. When LiveUpdate finishes installing all the updates, restart your computer.

If the problem persists, go to step 2.
STEP 2

Uninstall your Norton product

  1. On your Mac, click the Finder icon in the dock, and then click Applications in the left pane under Favorites section.
  2. Find the Norton application icon, and drag it to the Trash or Bin.

  3. Click Continue.

  4. If you see a prompt, type your administrator account password, and then click OK.

  5. In the window that appears, click Uninstall.

  6. If you see a prompt, type your administrator account password, and then click Install Helper.

  7. Click Restart Now.

STEP 3

Install your Norton device security product

  1. Sign in to your account.

  2. Type in your email address and password for Norton account, and click Sign In.

  3. In the My Norton portal, click Download.

  4. In the Get Started page, click Agree and Download.

  5. When the download finishes, double-click the file that you downloaded to launch the Norton installer.

  6. In the Norton installer window, select I want to join Norton Community Watch, and click Install to start the installation.

  7. When you see a prompt for Install Helper tool, type your administrator password and then click Install Helper.

  8. If you see a prompt to restart, click Restart.

  9. After restarting your Mac, in the Norton installation window that appears, click Open Now to open System Preferences.

  10. In the Security & Privacy preferences window, on the General tab, click the lock icon at the bottom, type your administrator password and click Unlock.

  11. Next to System software from application Norton was blocked from loading, click Allow. Exit the System Preferences window.

  12. In the Norton installation window, click Continue.

  13. In the Norton Installation window, click Open to go to the Security & Privacy settings.

    To complete the Norton installation on macOS 10.15.x or later, you need to allow Full Disk access to Norton.

  14. In the Security & Privacy preferences window, on the Privacy tab, click the lock icon at the bottom, type your administrator password and click Unlock.

  15. In the left pane, select Full Disk Access, and then check Norton System Extension in the right pane. Exit the System Preferences window.

  16. In the Installation Successful window, click Restart.

    You must restart your computer to complete the installation process.

  17. In the Norton installation window, click Next, and then click Complete.

  18. If you see a prompt to activate, type your email address and password to sign in to Norton. From the list of available licenses in your account, select your license and click Next.

    Your Norton device security product installation is now complete.
