Short-Term Loan or Payday Loan Alert

Short-term loans can include payday/cash advances, secured or unsecured loans. These may or may not generate credit inquiries, depending on the lending company's requirements. When your personal information is used, such as name, date of birth, or Social Security number, to apply for these types of loans, an alert may be generated.

Why is it important?

Because these loans do not always generate a credit inquiry you may not be aware one exists until it shows as delinquent. These loans are typically based on one giving collateral to a company, such as writing a check for deposit at a later date.

What should you do?

To verify that no fraudulent loans have been issued using your personal information, please follow the outlined steps below to obtain a copy of your DataX and Teletrack consumer reports. These companies are like credit reporting agencies, which report payday loans, deposit accounts, and short-term loans. These companies do not fulfill requests from third parties, such as LifeLock, to order reports on your behalf. Accordingly, you must order your own DataX and Teletrack reports if you want to obtain more information.

To order your DataX report, you must fill out a request form and submit it via mail to the company directly. You can download the form by following these steps:

  1. Go to http://consumers.dataxltd.com/

  2. Once on the page, click "Free Annual Credit."

  3. Click on the request form.

  4. Fill out necessary information and send to DataX.

  5. Allow 2-3 weeks for report to arrive.

If you are unable to fill out the form online you may request a copy by mail by calling DataX directly at 800-295-4790.

To order your Teletrack report, you must fill out a request form and submit it via mail to the company directly. You can download the form by following these steps:

  1. Download and print the request form online at http://www.corelogic.com/downloadable-docs/teletrack-consumer-report-request.pdf

  2. Allow 2-3 weeks for report to arrive

If you are unable to request the form online, you may request a copy by telephone by calling Teletrack directly at 877-309-5226.

Review the information in the reports carefully. There should be a section for inquiries and one for loans. If a loan was issued, there should be a loan amount and/or balance due information associated with the entry on the report. If you do not recognize the information listed and believe this may be a fraudulent loan, call our Member Services Department at customer support for further assistance.
