Fix problem with repeated Universal Control alert from your Norton product on Mac

Universal Control is a feature from Apple that is available only for Mac and iPad devices. With Universal Control, you can seamlessly control up to two other nearby Mac or iPad devices using a single mouse, keyboard, and trackpad. To know more about the Universal Control feature, refer to the Apple Support article.

When other nearby Apple devices try to connect to your Mac, your Norton product notifies you and prompts you to take action. You see this alert only on macOS Monterey 12.4 or later and iPadOS 15.4 or later. Follow the below instructions to stop receiving repeated Norton alerts when these Apple devices connect again to your Mac.

  1. In the alert window, click the drop-down menu, and select Always use this action for “Universal Control”.

    Connection Blocking alertAllow or Block

If you are not sure about the source of the connection request, then click Details to view the connection details.

  2. After verifying the connection details, you can choose either to allow or block the connection request by clicking on Allow or Block.
