Norton Utilities 16.0 drag and drop files option does not work when moving to Shred Files window

Norton Utilities 16 is built with native support for 32-bit version of Windows. All the major features of Norton Utilities 16 are available when you install it on a 64-bit version of Windows, except File Shredder.

To drag and drop the files to Shred Files window on a 32-bit version of Windows, you may need to temporarily disable User Account Control. For more information, read Turn off and turn on User Account Control.

Norton Utilities 16 has a limited ability to accept files for shredding through drag and drop on 64-bit version of Windows. As a workaround, you can manually add the files that you want to shred.

Shred files using Norton Utilities

  1. Start Norton Utilities.

  2. On the Privacy tab, click Shred Files.

  3. In the bottom-left corner, click Add, and then click Add File or Add Folder.

Select the files and folders that you want to shred.

  4. Click Shred.

The files and folders that you have added are permanently shredded and cannot be recovered. Review the list before you confirm the shredding.

  5. In the Norton Utilities warning window, click Yes.

  6. Click Continue.
