Firefox prompts to save passwords even though I have set up Norton Identity Safe

To fix this issue, reenable the browser's password manager option in your Norton product and then disable it in the Firefox settings.

These steps are for the current version of the Norton products. If you have an older version or if you do not know your product version, go to Norton Update Center.

STEP 1

Enable the browser's password manager option

  1. Start your Norton product.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Under Detailed Settings, click Identity Protection.

  4. Next to Identity Safe, click Configure.

  5. If you see a prompt to sign in to your vault, type your vault password, and then click Open.

  6. In the bottom-left corner of the Norton Identity Safe window, click the settings icon.

  7. On the Browsing tab, next to Turn off the browser's password manager, select Yes from the drop-down option.

  8. Click Save.

STEP 2

Disable Firefox password manager

  1. Start Firefox.

  2. On the top-right corner, click Open menu and click Options.

  3. On the Security tab, under Passwords, uncheck Remember password for sites, and then click OK.

Firefox will no longer prompt to save the password on any login page.
